UIn Uganda we held open air meetings, prayed for the sick, and preached in the churches. The more established churches often included clinics that helped the people in the surrounding areas with their medical needs. I was strongly impacted by the fact that everyone I met, that I came to know even a little, had at least one close relative who died of AIDS. A close relative would be a father, mother, sister, brother or perhaps as distant as an uncle or aunt. I saw children, as young as 7 or 8 years old, taking care of babies. In rural areas many children were tasked with obtaining the water required for the families daily needs. I saw a young boy struggling to make his way up hill “rolling” a 10 gallon container of drinking water that he had filled at a water station.
